For more than fifty years, Peerless has used a high nickel, high carbon alloy tool steel. When comparing other alloys with carbon steels, Peerless saw steel provides additional strength, ductility and toughness. A close examination shows this alloy has relatively high carbon content for cutting edge retention, nickel and molybdenum for toughness and chromium for corrosion resistance. This special grade tackles the challenges of industrial carbide tipped saw applications and maintains its strength and excellent abrasion resistance under high and low temperature operations.
Peerless Saw Plate is hardened, tempered and the stress relieved to ensure optimum balance between hardness and toughness and its stress reliving process ensures the plate is the optimum in plate flatness.

The key reason that Checkmate joined with Tri-Gold, is they use only imported raw materials to ensure quality end products that we and our distributors are confident to sell knowing our end user will have complete satisfaction.
German standard 75Cr1 and Japanese standard SkS-51 Steel bodies are chosen for their High Nickel, High Carbon tool steel content. A good combination ensures the saw’s hardness and plate wear characteristics. A specialized Nickel content provides plate toughness and improves performance and helps withstand corrosion, Carbon increases the steel hardness, Chromium improves resistance to wear and higher temperatures.

Plate hardness range between 38~42Rc and Diameters range from 100 through to 1800mm.

Other quality materials such as Carbide Tips from Ceratizit Luxenberg, Silver Sandwich solder from Umicore, PCD from Element 6 Ireland all help in determining a quality end product.
Carbide grinding is done on CNC Grinders from Vollmer Germany and Quality Assurance checking for “Run out and Tension” is completed on Gerling Germany testing equipment.

Checkmate has recently been able to join with Lemp to supply this quality saw plate from Germany.
Our primary product being run has been the Chrome Plated Saw Plate, which is generating a very good following given the benefits of plate wear and less guide wear due to its reduced abrasive surface which helps prolong guide wear and reduces the heat build-up within the saw plate. We have been exceptionally proud to have their brand under the Checkmate umbrella.
All their bodies are made of quality steel and with state-of-the-art equipment. Each body is quality checked by hand as well as computer-controlled systems to ensure all tolerances are kept. We do not offer any standard line of bodies. Instead all bodies are custom-made to our customer’s specifications. Tight tolerances, special tensioning and reduced thickness are our specialty. All designs are possible; i.e. with copper plugs, epoxy filled dampening slots and thread holes.
